My Baikal IZH-46M, made a custom grip using the stock one, just cut and sanded down with dremel and hand tools, sanded using 80grit, then 120 grit, then used some teak wood stain to get a darker more antique look, will varnish it soon, but want the stain to wear a little with use, give it better look then finish with varnish.
